Acrylic paint on Tyvek material
Tyvek is a brand of flashspun, high-density polyethylene fibers; superficially resembles paper, is very strong, light, difficult to tear. I have found this to be a practical surface for textural layering of more recent works. Paintings are free of frames and hang scroll-like from finely crafted maple hangers.

After a career of designing small images, I wanted to break free, to use paint, large paper and anything that would hold paint--brushes, twigs, my hands. Images began arriving. This is a selection of paintings from that period 2003-2008 and currently.

This is a series of more playful and abstract artwork. Cutting, rearranging and reassembling some previous paintings to create new pieces was quite fun and freeing.
